  • Right-click on My Computer
  • Choose Manage
  • Open Disk Management

  • Type bootrec /fixmbr and hit Enter
  • Type bootrec /fixboot and hit Enter
  • Restart the system

  • Start Command Prompt
  • Type chkdsk and press Enter key
  • Type chkdsk X: /r (Replace X with Seagate external drive’s letter)

Fix#4: Run SFC

  • Launch Command Prompt
  • Type sfc /scannow (leave one space after sfc)
  • Restart computer after fixation
